Back to normal at long last! Our summer fair is over at school and I can breathe a sigh of relief. You couldn't get any worse weather than we had. After a glorious week of sunshine, we had intermittant torrential rain :(

We were tempted to think it would hold off but fate seemed to conspire to send heavy rain while our fair was on. So after all our hard work in creating a new garden, hardly anyone saw it. Never mind - the kids have enjoyed it.

So I'm cheering myself up with a little paper sunshine this week. More totally gorgeous Doodlebug papers are just what is needed.

This weeks Purrrfect Project at AllyScraps is summer themed. I have also altered a container for the Just Magnolia challenge.

Photobucket

I haven't quite done what I'd planned - I need to add some titles and a little paper-band with flowers on but I have no more time at the mo.

Photobucket

The Cover is actually a reverse card so that the greeting is on the back and the songs can be printed in the middle.

Photobucket

The back really should have some quote or other but it will have to do for now.

If you want any of the BEAUTIFUL papers (I've used a mixture of Doodlebug lines) then look no further than here.

Thanks for popping in.

Summer is certainly here! Phew!

I've been playing with the latest lines from Doodlebug and they are just totally gorgeous. They would be in my top 10 list of best papers EVER!

This layout is from a short break we had last year where Lauren (in her normal manner) befriended some kids on the beach. Niamh, even though she was older, had loads of fun playing together.

Photobucket

I do like to make my own embellies - I guess it stems back to the days when I first started and I didn't have much (obviously that has changed since!) I love my little ice-cream cone with the cherry on the top!

Photobucket

You can find the fabulous glitter stickers here and all the papers here - just leave some for me because I think I'll need more!

Thanks for stopping by.

Too busy to Blog

For those of you on the PTA at your school - my heart goes out to you! If you're like me then your too busy for anything else in your life right now. Still, I only have 4 more days till our summer fair so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm combining my challenges this week to save a little time.

Photobucket

It's birthdays over at Simon Says Stamp challenge blog & the theme for Just Magnolia is Summer.

Photobucket

I just *adore* these papers from Doodlebug from AllyScraps. I think they are going to be one of my all-time favourites.

Photobucket

Do you notice that I've used my copic markers again? I've really enjoyed playing with them but still have so much to learn. I see those fabulous images out there and I take my hat off to the girls that have created them. I don't think they're the easiest things to master.

Photobucket

I just love the matching glittery cardstock stickers. I've nearly used them all on various projects - quite unheard of for me!

Check out all the lovely Doodlebug lines here. Don't buy them all before I get there though I'll need to restock!

I'm up for a challenge tomorrow at the AllyScraps forum. Come over to join me and I'll share some more Doodlebug with you!

Thanks for dropping in.

Going into Orbit

The school summer fair is next week so needless to say, I'm up to my eyeballs with the preparations. Still, gorgeous papers don't wait for anyone!

My lovely parcel from AllyScraps arrived with lots of the latest goodies. I have wanted to play with the Orbits collection from Crate Paper for ages. I'm a real sucker for aliens and rockets.

The cute little die-cut shapes are all glittery and gorgeous too! I think I did go overboard with the wierd shapes for the photo mat and borders, but they were so much fun.

The lil' alien stamps were too good to pass up on too. I've coloured them with Distress Inks for a little change.

I finished off the page with an index tab from the die-cut box. This was inspired by Chris' challenge last week.
I've actually managed to do a layout for next month's Crop weekend where we'll be having a whole weekend of lovely playing!
So pop back soon and I'll get some new projects uploaded.
Thanks for stopping by

Friday Frenzy

Lots of things happen on a Friday don't they?

Firstly, the Purrrfect Projects for AllyScraps. I host this bi-weekly challenge to take your scrapping supplies and put them to good use in other projects. This week is BLING! We all love a little bling.

I created a crown door plate for Lauren from some mountboard covered in gorgeous sparkly cardstock.

Photobucket

The letters are Story Book from Cricut. I love this font most of all! The heart and swirls are covered in glitter which was just so messy.

Photobucket

I actually managed to part with one of my most precious Maya Road flower. *Sigh* I don't know how I did it, but it's there!

Next up my first card coloured with Copic Markers. As I mentioned yesterday, I've had a set for 4 months or so but just couldn't get anything like the finish I wanted. This week was the last chance or they were going!

I still have a very long way to go but at least I turned an image into a card. LOL.

This week's Just Magnolia challenge is Paper Piecing. It's great to be able to enter on the day of the challenge!

Hope you all have a lovely crafty weekend.

Just Magnolia & Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Photobucket

I thought I'd combine challenges for this one being as my PTA duties are mounting up.

Just Magnolia provided a sketch whilst Simon Says Stamp has a pink and brown theme.

I'm afraid it's not my most innovative card because I think my brain is fried!

I have at last conquered my copics. I have had a set for about 3 months but I just couldn't get on with them. I nearly sold them last week but thought I'd give it one last try. I finally managed to create some images which I'm happy with. It's only taken months of trying and giving up!

I'll create a card with it tonight so I can share it tomorrow. I can also share my Purrrfect Project tomorrow. Did I tell you it involves bling?!

Thanks for dropping by.

What do you think of my New Blog?

Nothing much to report - I'm still working on some challenge projects for AllyScraps. One of them involves Bling!

I'll share a layout I did for Deb's challenge recently - Scrap a School Photo.

A nice simple layout but sometimes those are the best way forward.

Just thought I'd spread the word - Rachel has blog candy from Whiff of Joy to celebrate the release of Women's Delight Collection. You can check out her blog here.

BTW - did you notice the new blog? Thought I'd have a play the other day. What do you think?

Thanks for dropping in.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Tim Holtz

Photobucket

This week's challenge for Simon Says Stamp is Tim Holtz inspired project. I love his style but it elludes me mostly. I haven't done any collage stuff forever. So I found it a bit of challenge to get my mojo started.

I have used the wrinkle-free watercolour effect that Tim uses. This is where you put the ink onto your craft sheet and spritz. I have forgotten how much fun this is - playing with my inks has really rekindled my desire.

The lock plate is made from Fimo - left over from a project I did for Scrapbook Inspirations a few months back. I've added some moonglow powders to make it shimmer.

I must also mention the Scrappy Shack. This Etsy shop has the most gorgeous and interesting die-cuts I've ever seen. Better still, they're have blog-candy for one lucky person. Pop over to have a look!

Thanks for stopping in.

TGIF!

Well that was another week then?! Where did that go?

I haven't done much scrapping this week or at least haven't finished much! So I'll share my layout for AllyScraps DT reveal. We picked up on the challenges we set for the on-line crop. I chose Jana Eubank's challenge: SCRAP (s=stitching, c=circle element, r=ribbon, a=the color aqua, and p=punches).

I'm in love with Tiffany's Collection from We R Memory Keepers. The Taylor paper is so delicious IRL - all sprakly and pretty, I was reluctant to put things on it!

The beautiful flowers are also Tiffany's - such great value for money as there are loads in a pack.

I've glittered my Maya Road chipboard letters. They now look just like my American Crafts letters only a lot messier! I just love thickers!

Photobucket

I hope to work on a project for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog tonight. This week's challenge is Tim Holtz! There are 2 prizes up for grabs too; $25 of Tim Holtz Products and a piece of signed artwork from the man himself! Take a look here for more info and some gorgeous inspiration.
Thanks for dropping in!

Simon Says Stamp! Challenge

Photobucket
This week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge is to use an animal in your project.

I've chosen some of my favourite stamps from Simon Says Stamp. I'm a real sucker for giraffes.

I've used some of my leftover papers from my layout to make the card. I bent the giraffe's necks when I stamp as I quite like them leaning over.

Thanks for looking!

Just for me!

I don't often scrap much for myself any more. I'm normally working on some DT project or other (which is wonderful). So it seemed a bit weird to be doing just that.

I love these Lime Rickey papers from Basic Grey. I'm not normally a bright/graphic colour sort of person, but who could resist such citrus colours?

Lauren's school trip was to the local children's farm - Hatton Country World. It is unfortunate that we have annual passes so we visit it loads during the year. Still it was a whole different experience travelling around with 120 children!

I just love the little dickie birds. I just wish I had chipboard or stickers!

Feeling a little lacklustre this evening because of the heat so I might have an early night!

Thanks for stopping by.
