More Romance

I have done another couple of little projects for AllyScraps blog this month. I couldn't resist the Vintage Valentine range from Fancy Pants.

Fancy Pants vintage papers are just gorgeous!  The pretty patterns and colours will suit all your valentine projects.

I covered my heart shaped box with papers before layering up with vairous images and stamps from Pink Paislee.  The tiny frame by Melissa Frances is one of four in the pack.

The fabulous chipboard birdcage and birdie by Maya Road needed nothing more than a little ink.  Check out Maya Road's new line of inks here.

I wanted to share a blog with you because you'll be amazed by the buttons!  Tessa Ann is going to be the guest designer at Treasured Scrapbooking next month.  She makes the most beautiful and intricate hand made buttons.  Check out her blog and her etsy shop.

Thanks for popping in.

Fresh from the Farm!

I saw this adorable idea in a French magazine and thought I have to make me one of those.  The little 'milk' cartons can be filled with favours or chocolates for your loved ones.  Lauren is rather inclined to think that she is going to receive it full of tiny chocolates!

Those fabulous papers are of course October Afternoon's Farm Fresh collection.  Those lovely spring colours are just what we need at this time of year.

I adore the cardstock stickers which are mounted onto foam tape and adorn the simple tags.

The cute little cow was hand cut from the journal cards because he was nice and dinky.

Thanks for popping in.

Magnolia Toot!

Who would have thought it, but my project got published in Magnolia's Ink magazine.  Nicki received her magazine today and saw my project and rang me.  I had no idea as they hadn't contacted me.

I haven't seen the magazine yet - but the last one was brilliant source of inspiration.

I have also done a Magnolia card for a friend which is based on a sketch from Just Magnolia.

I've used the paper scraps from my workshop.  Purple is definately NOT my colour, but I really loved these Prima papers.

Thanks for popping in.

Busy Beaver

It's not often I say this, but I have been a busy beaver!  Apart from cleaning the house like a mad thing (it does happen occasionally), I've been busy with projects too.

I quite often have to resort to gift cards as presents for people but rather than a standard, flat card from the shop, I prefer something more original and unique.  With that in mind, I will be making this fabulous gift card next week (Thursday, 28th January).

I love these papers from Prima which are perfect for an elegant gift.  We'll be inking and distressing (my most favourite things) as well as cutting out butterflies and other pretty things.

The card opens out to reveal the gift card (if  you're lucky) or a sentiment if you have a real gift instead.

If you would like to know more then you can visit What Housework

I'll leave you with a taster of a few projects that I have been working on.

Firstly, I have finally created a layout for my on-line friend, Vee.  We've never met, have 'chatted' for quite some time.  It's always a bit strange scrapping for someone else so it has taken me a long time.

Another fun Valentine project for Ally Scraps.  Let's just say, that it is a bird cage you can see!

I'm super excited by this one.  I saw a project in a French magazine which struck a chord with me and had to make one straight away.  It was all in French so I've had to make it up as I've gone along.

Hope that I've whet your appetite.  Thanks for stopping by.

I'm Cuckoo about Valentine's

I'm a guest designer over at Ally Scraps this month (lucky me).

I have been wanting to make a faux cuckoo clock for ages so when my little pile of papers arrived from Ally Scraps I jumped for joy.  For there were the perfect papers and embellishments that I needed.  It's so easy to go cuckoo over the new Valentine range from Fancy Pants which feature pretty patterns, soft colours (including my favourite duck egg blue).

The house is made of sturdy card using a template.  I then covered the walls with paper and inks. I have mounted the house onto a dowel which is then pushed into an oasis in a tiny pot (hot glue is a must for this project).

I had the chipboard clock face for years so I'm glad to put it to good use.  You could stamp out a suitable clock and hands if you don't have one.  I like to 'sugar' my flowers and add a tiny stamped sentiment (Pink Paislee).  A clay bird cuckoos from his perch having popped out of the shuttered doors.

The beauty about shopping at Ally Scraps is that you can mix and match lots of different papers and embellishments.  The die-cut heart is Pink Paislee and the images on the pole are from Bo Bunny's Love Bandit. The  roof are layers of Fancy Pants paper which have been scalloped (curl the edges slightly for more dimension).

At the back of the house I have used another fabulous die-cut which is layered onto a conertina circle. That wonderful key hole is Melissa Francis

Finally a little love note on the last wall with more Pink Paislee stamping a tiny heart and birdie.

I hope that I have inspired you to make something special for Valentine's day.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pencil Lines Sketch 170

I think a bit of practise makes all the difference.  I had been making so many Christmas projects in December that making layouts became harder.  I've thrown myself back into layouts so at least now they I can scrap them in one night!

Anna created another fabulous sketch this week.  I'm continuing with my run on glimmer mists, this time mixing Distress Inks with the mists to create the background.

Just love the cogs and clocks from Tim Holtz - only wish I had more!

I've used a mixture of stamps here including Paper Artsy (cogs, sentiment), 7 Gypsies (label), Technique Tuesday (border stamps).

I've embossed the chicken wire stamp (Stampington).  The sentiment is Unity.  I love the metal grill (Making Memories) which is under the photo and label.

I'll leave you with a sneaky peak at a project I've done for Ally Scraps - I think it may be my cutest one yet!  Check out the blog tomorrow for all the details :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Resolutions Kit

Photobucket

This is my first month designing for Treasured Scrapbooking. The resolutions kit this month is jam-packed with patterned papers and embellishments.

I have been catching up with my photos from autumn recently so the kit was perfect for this photo of Jacob and my God Son, Nathan.  We'd trapsed over the pumpkin fields in all the mud - the boys had to go the furthest to find the biggest pumpkins.  Only trouble is they had to carry them back too!

I paper-pieced this tractor which I've layered over the journal cards included in the kit.  Something so cute about a red tractor.

Pumpkins are one thing I can draw (I'm truly pants at drawing).  These are coloured in with Copic markers.

I'll share some more projects over the weekend so be sure to check back.  Thanks for popping in!

Pencil Lines Sketch 169

I did my first official LO for Pencil Lines this week. The great sketch was supplied by Susan Dupre.

After my recent dabble with Glimmer Mists, I've been playing with them a little more.

Those fabulous robot papers are Bella Blvd - I just love the bright colours - some of my favourites.

The photos are from our last Disney trip.  I find Disney photos so hard to scrap because of all the colours and generally they feature lots of characters.

Thanks for stopping by.
