Lili of the Valley Challenge

I got my first LOTV stamps at the NEC last month - but I wish I'd have gone back to get more!  They are such a dream to colour in. So I thought I'd enter a card into their challenge.

This fairy stamp is just so pretty - my absolute favourite.

She's been coloured with Copics - I still need a better colour for grass.

Those lovely papers are from Papermania - who would have thought that?!  I have no chance of getting those roses into an envelope. LOL

The die cuts in the paper pack are gorgeous!

Thanks for popping in.

So we have new bunnies in the family and yes, they'll be on a lot of layouts whilst they're still so cute!  This time, with Lauren and Jacob holding their new best friends.

This week's Pencil Lines sketch was my perfect type - a large circle and a single photo!  However, I thought I'd stretch my creativity and utilise a different photo mat.

A pair of love hearts seemed to fit the bill.   I've also replaced the layered papers below and created a faux belt and buckle.

Lastly, flowers are always needed so a selection of lovely Prima flowers and leaves.

Thanks for stopping by.

Our family has a couple of new editions - thankfully they weren't the two-legged variety, but the type that come with floppy ears and twitchy noses!

My DD bunny is the cutest - he is just so laid back and adorable.  This photo was taken on the first day he came home.  I thought I would make a wall hanging for Lauren's room so she could see  him when she wakes up. As I'm the guest designer over at Ally Scraps this month, the lovely goodies were just perfect for the job!

Bo Bunny's Sophie collection has such pretty colours which compliments so many colour schemes.  I hand cut flowers from Sophie's Boquet paper and teamed them with a stamped flourish and these fabulous silk flowers.

To add a little oomph, I sugared the centres (snow writer and glitter) before adding the gorgeous pearl brad (Kaiser Craft) and tiny rhinestones.

The hanger is the string of pearls also found in Kaiser Craft's Devonshire embellishment pack. The sentiment is hand written and cut out in the shape of a banner.

Hopefully there will be a new Pencil Lines sketch up tomorrow even though Anna and her family are currently stranded in Florida.  My thoughts go out to you guys!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Spring has Sprung!

I am a guest designer for Ally Scraps this month.  Cathy always has tons of lovely goodies to choose from so I chose October Afternoon which is one of my favourite manufacturers - I love their pretty colour combinations and clean lines.

I came across this fabulous display box (Paper Artsy) in the shape of a house and just had to have it!  The fresh Ducks in a Row papers and accessories will bring Spring into any home.  I wanted to display a favourite photograph as well as add some cute embellishments which could be changed at a future date.  The HOME letters were mounted onto card and secured to a 'card stand'.

I top the house off with a little tag which has been embellished using the rub-ons from the collection including those tiny little stitches!  A neat polka dot ribbon from Maya Road finishes it all off nicely.

Every home needs a pair of love birds - mine are made from Fimo which have been sparkled with glitter.  I will be adding more trinkets when I find them.

Bird cages are all the rage and Maya Road's bird cage is fastened to the side of the house dangling from a pretty length of pearls (Kaiser Crafts).  More polka dot ribbon adorns the dividers.

I always love bunting - especially the tiny sort.  I cut out tiny triangles from the various papers (which are all double-sided) and glued them to some baker's twine.  This is then draped along the house and secured with glue-dots.

I couldn't resist cutting out these birdies and flowers from Imaginisce Lucy Bird paper.  I stole the clouds from My Little Shoebox.

We have 2 new editions to our family today and just so perfect for Spring.

We were going to get some rabbits after we moved house, but after picking up Charlie (Lauren's rabbit) in the pet shop today, we couldn't let him go. They were supposed to be girls, but someone had put them in the wrong section at the pet shop. Ho hum.

This was just after they arrived home - I think they were still a little stunned.  They sat on the kids laps for about half an hour. Jacob's rabbit is called Luca (for now at least).

Charlie is just so adorable - he just sat there like a teddy bear.  I'm sure they'll be appearing a layout very soon!

Thanks for popping in. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Prima

The first thing that Lauren wanted to do this holiday was go to the butterfly farm.  Of course, being the obliging Mum that I am (ha ha), we went to Stratford on Avon's Butterfly farm.  It is fabulous to walk among exotic flowers and have butterflies flutter past you.

I thought I'd enter Prima's Build a Page this month since I had the perfect embellishment for a layout. The very pretty Prima vine is absolutely gorgeous in real life.

I stamped some flourishes (Inkadinkadoo) before adding the vine.

I don't know if it is really visible, but I 'sugared' the centre of the flowers with a little snow writer and glitter.  It adds lovely texture and sparkle.

Check out those butterflies with their tiny beads.  I've tucked in a little journalling banner in between the leaves.

Speaking of Prima loveliness, check out this:

Prima have candy this month - just check out their blog.

Thanks so much for popping in.  I'll be on Allyscraps blog tomorrow with a sweet home decor project.

We're on our last week of the Easter break.  At least the sun is shining although it's still a little chilly.

I have been on a little cardmaking fest recently, but I am working on a couple of layouts - I find that I need to have a break to get my mojo back.

Anyway, before I finish up those layouts, I thought I'd share the workshop project that I'm doing next week.  The sweet mini album uses the most fresh papers from My Mind's Eye (very strokable).  I'll be running the workshop in Worcester on 20th April and Solihull on 22nd April.

So if you're in either area, it would be lovely to meet up and do a fun workshop together - there are a couple of places left on both dates. It's always a lovely way to spend a morning and meet up with new people.

If you would like to know more, then pop along to our website  http://www.whathousework.co.uk/ or use the link on the side.

Back soon with some more goodies.

Another Card or Two!

It's a bit like buses around here - don't see a card for ages then they arrive in three's - well in multiples anyway.

I seem to have lost my mojo for layouts recently, so I've made a few cards to fill in the gaps.  These couple of guys fit the bill for the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp to make a card for a child.

The Fairy Doole image is all sparkly.  Unfortunately, my late night means that the photo sucks so it bleached out somewhat.

Also made another card for Colour Create to use Lilac, Grey and White which also fits the bill over at Just Magnolia where the challenge is Punch it Out.

Lilac is not my favourite colour but it is a super colour to blend with copic markers.  Again my photo is bleached out so you can't see the background colour, but you get the idea.

Just love those rose buds - would never fit in an envelope though!

Spring has arrived at long last - we had a beautiful day again today, so may be that will perk up my mojo. Enjoy your weekend - thanks for stopping by.

Just Magnolia

I found myself with a spare night the other day and thought I'd do a card for Just Magnolia's challenge.

The challenge was to make a card with more than one fold.  I got inspired by all the lovely cards on their blog and as I've never made one of these pocket cards before, it seemed a perfect excuse.

I've had this Edwin for ages, but he's never made it onto a card before. LOL. I could always use the card as a very early Valentine!

The tag goes inside the pocket and has such a cute Tilda!  She is adorable.

All images are coloured with Copics, papers are Fancy Pants.

Thanks for poppin in.

Happy Easter

Hope the Easter bunny has left you loads of eggs.  I know that we have a big batch here.

I love this pretty paper from DCWV - it did all the work! Mind you, as I looked at the layout, I realise I didn't actually finish it off.  Oh well.

I think I did this one when I got back from holiday so I had a little flower flourish.   I used a favourite swirl and cupid stamp underneath.

My favourite rose buds.

I made this card for Jacob to give to Lauren on her birthday.    Love cupcakes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter!

It's Good Friday so hopefully everyone is home and able to relax.

Jacob came home from his residential Pioneer trip yesterday with the biggest mud pile ever!  It was freezing and wet but he's had the greatest time.  I'll be cleaning muddy boots today I think.

I thought I'd share another card I made using the Lili of the Valley stamp I got last week.  She is such a delight to colour in.

My R20 pen has run out (boo hoo) so I don't have much blush at the moment.

I love these rose buds although they're a bit bulky when putting the card in the envelope.

Well I hope you get lots of Easter Eggs from the Easter Bunny.  I'm hoping to get some last minute Easter projects done tonight.

Have a wonderful Easter!
