Icy Challenge

There has not been a whole lot of scrapping going on around here recently. I have been working on a scrapbook for a really good friend's 40th birthday. It's the biggest one I have done for a friend (I'm usually the one who makes the memory book when a friend leaves the area for pastures new).

Anyway, to get my creative juices going, I thought I would take part in a challenge. I love the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog when I need inspiration so with only a few days to go, I whipped off this layout...

I had a little play with texture paste and some home made masks (the layout is white, but I had to dull it a little so you could see the background).

After pushing through the paste, I sprinkled glitter on the snowflakes so they are nice and sparkly.

The title had a little extra treatment of some blue ink and Distress Stickles.

Anyway, this was a great way to get me scrapping - thanks to Simon Says Stamp Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by.

Been a While...

Happy New Year (rather belated I know).

I don't really have any excuses but it has been busy around here (see below).

Anyway, I have scrapped a little over the past few months so here is a little share...

DD took part in a record breaking Tae Kwondo demonstration in October. It absolutely poured with rain throughout which makes the effort more worthy.

They also got to meet the UK Gold medalist, Jade Jones which was really exciting.

It was a great way to use those little pieces I'd been saving.

I also taught a class at the Scr@p! retreat in November. The retreat was amazing and I was also given kits from the other teachers. This kit from Carta Bella was originally a double-page layout, but I've kind of gone my own way a little to come up with a single page.

I don't get to do many classes, but it is fun doing things which you may not do normally.

I would certainly not use a gold foil doiley but love how this turned out.

Anyway, here is my excuse for not being around much last year. We have been converting our internal garage into a.... craft room for me! I'll leave you with a sneak peak but I'll save the post for another day.

One of my favourite pieces in my room plus my favourite globe.

Thanks for popping in.
