Child's Play

I've been busy working on things which can't go live just yet, so I thought I'd share a class I taught at our crop a few months ago.

I love Wilna Furstenburg's style and the way she uses watercolour paints on her layouts. I opted for a bright colour palette on my layout and paired it with a favourite colour combo - lemon and turquoise.

Wilna explains how to move the colours in her Art Class but she also has great video tutorials too.

I love creating my own embellishments and used my Silhouette to print and cut the journal pieces plus the Good Times frame. To add more texture below the frame we used the poster paints on a rubber stamp.

Anyway, only another 12 days until our charity crop. Woo Hoo! There are just 3 places left so if you haven't already made up your mind, grab a place before it's too late!

Grab a Bargain & Raise Money too!

Don't forget that you can enjoy a 5% discount at Absolute Scrap and they will donate another 10% to the Charity crop. Absolute Scrap is having a paper sale at the moment so it's a great time to go shopping.

Thanks for popping in.

Scrappy Inspiration &Sneak Peeks

Firstly, there's only a few weeks to go before the Charity Crop! Woo Hoo! We're going to have a great day out. Here are a couple of sneak peeks to whet your appetite:

This class  by Jackie Ashton has a distinctive arts & crafts feel to it. Jackie's clever class has plenty of space for lots of photos or journaling.

Next up is a class by Julie Taylor. Julie has a great eye for colour and texture which she's used to the full on this class.

There are still a few places left to join us. Just use the contact info on the poster above.
Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn will be there on the day for a little retail therapy *joy*! This shop is always so welcome at our regular crops because it's stacked with the most gorgeous goodies!

Speaking of retail therapy...

And for those of you who live too far to join us, you too can help to raise money.
Absolute Scrap is a wonderful online shop with loads of fabulous papers and embellies. Deb has offered a 5% discount for you and 10% of your order will be donated to the COB Foundaiton.

To take advantage of this fab offer, just go shopping at Absolute Scrap and enter the voucher code:

COB

The voucher is good until 11th May, so get shopping!

Now a little inspiration of my own....

My boy is growing up so fast (don't they all?!) He is mostly camera shy but he was more cooperative last year in Bristol. I love this photo of him and so I thought it would be a great chance to document a little message for when he's older.

I  used various bits and pieces from Simple Stories, Basic Grey, Stash Panache & Studio Calico.

I am loving the splatter stamps that Jackie bought me for my birthday last month. Then have been used everywhere!

I also dug out some 7 Gypsies & Teresa Collins stamps. BTW, did I mention that the Prima chalks are my favourite?!

Thanks for popping in. Don't forget to go shopping at Absolute Scrap - it's in the name of a very good cause!

Favourite Place

My DD is totally mad about animals. Her dream is to become a dolphin trainer and marine biologist one day. We can't walk down the street without stopping to talk to a passing pooch and its owner. Imagine how thrilled she was to meet 8-day-old puppies!

My layout is based on a class by Jen Gallagher at Scr@p! weekend last November. The original class was a double-layout I giggled things around to suit my story.

The papers and stickers are all Echo Park WildFlower.

I like the contrasting gold doily and feather that Jen put in the kit too. Such Fun!

Thanks for stopping by.

Charity Crop 11th May 2014

Want to come and join us for a fun day out whilst doing a good deed?
The day kicks off at 10am. There are 2 layout classes as well as fun and games during the day.
A  fabulous buffet lunch, cake, refreshments, more cake and a raffle.
Sounds great eh?

Find out more and how to book by emailing me: cropkat@gmail.com or call the number shown on the poster. All proceeds are going to the COB Foundation who help so many people throughout the UK.

Now for a little share of some recent birthday cards. March has been a very busy birthday month!

I love this technique that I learned at the recent ScR@P! retreat, taught by Trish Ladouceur. It's great for male projects.

Something a little more girly. I used lots of die-cuts, masks and texture paste on this one.

Last week the teachers went out on strike here. I had an interview with Channel 5 News. It was quite the experience! My 30 seconds of fame is about a minute in.

Thanks for stopping by.
