Halloween Layout

Halloween is one of the nicest events to scrap in my book. I have lots of old stamps and it seems papers which never seem to go out of fashion.
So up for a bit of a challenge I did a layout based on Creative Scrappers sketch 298.
This photo is from 2014 - we had such a great time - one of our best Halloween parties.

As you can see I stuck to the sketch quite closely.

I added some sketched circles because it was too late to use my sewing machine LOL. I really love the little jewels and pearls dotted around - looks so lovely IRL.

Although I love Halloween, I don't have any embellishments so I relied on stamping out leaves, cutting the hat and filling a tiny bottle with purple glitter.

Thanks for popping in.

My Lucky Day

Last month I entered the sketch challenge at My Creative Sketches. I am thrilled to have been picked to win the fabulous prize - thanks Pam!

Here is the sketch and layout:

I feel very lucky!

Onto a layout I did a little while ago...

I went out with my very good scrappy friends to celebrate Barb's birthday. We had a great day in Stratford upon Avon (Shakespear's home). We always have a real giggle and that day was no different!

I did add a bunch of random pieces to my layout just because I liked them.

Well thanks for popping in. Pop back in a couple of days as I have a small announcement!

Sweet Puppy? Really?

Do you remember that sweet puppy that I scrapped a couple of weeks ago?
How butter wouldn't melt?

Well I may have changed my mind!

So I started photographing a layout I had done of when we met up with friends to celebrate our 50th birthdays. I was quite pleased with the layout - it was cheerful and fun. I was taking a photograph of it when I got distracted by a phone call.
In steps Mack....

He ran off with the layout in his mouth and had already started demolishing it by the time I caught him. I should have got a picture of him if I were a proper scrapper. He certainly has added his own distressing.

Funny thing was, my DD thought it was supposed to look like that!
I give up!

Happy scrapping.

My Creative Sketch Challenge

I really enjoyed doing a sketch challenge the other day. So I decided to do another. Nothing like a challenge to get you scrapping!

This time around I participated in the August challenge over at My Creative Sketches.

I've used photos taken at my friends wedding in July. It was Lauren's first wedding so she was excited.

I pretty much stuck to the sketch just swapping and adding a few details here and there.
The background was cut on a silhouette and I inked with Distress Inks before overlay in the cut file.  In hindsight I should have cut the background then inked a card to put behind it.  DOH.

It was great to use some flowers. I think flowers have been a bit out of fashion recently.

I cut the title on the Silhouette. I inked it in an ombre fashion before covering it with a shimmery ink for a bit of sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by.

Proud as Punch

My son recently got his results from his GCSEs. He sat 11 GCSEs this time around plus Additional Maths. To say that he exceeded all expectations is an  understatement! He now has an amazing 4-A*, 9-As and 1-B. WTG Son!
I'll be doing a layout about his achievements another time, but for now, here is a layout I did with his prom photo.

He is rather camera shy so I had to steal a photo before he left for Prom. He looked so smart in his new suit.

I love the So Rad papers from Simple Stories. I don't think there are enough cool teen boy papers around!

I started my layout with the title (which is unusual for me). I liked the idea of mixing the number with the word. Blue and orange is a favourite colour combo and always looks great together.

Stars and circles are my go to shape!  I added some cogs for good measure and love the zip detail with the corrugated card (Fancy Pants).

So that's me for today. Thanks for stopping by.Photobucket

Puppy Love

There we go. Another post!

I'll cut to the chase with a piccie of the latest addition to our family. Our sweet but crazy puppy, Mack

He has only been part of our family for 4 months but he already filled our hearts after a week!
It's crazy how you can become so attached in such a short space of time.

I have done used the September Stuck! Sketch as my start point.
I pretty much stuck to the sketch and changed out the position of the title.
I love these words that I got in my Clique Kit. I have used pieces from different months (June, July & August).

I swapped a solid circle in the original sketch for some stamped images.

More pieces from my kits. Love the variety of goodies in each kit!

These pieces were digital items printed and cut out on a Silhouette.

There will be lots more dog layouts to come. He is truly adorable!

Stuck Sketches are celebrating their birthday with a bumper goodie stash!
Why not have a go at the sketch yourself?

Thanks for popping in. Happy Scrapping!

Hello Stranger!

Goodness me. It has been a long while since I posted anything. I have been scrapping but not blogging as my full time job kept me busy. But I have missed being out there.
So here I go with a promise to myself to keep my blog going.
I will mix in some new and older layouts and cards.

First up is a layout from our summer holiday this year. We went to Playacar in Mexico. It was the first time for all of us so it was really exciting. Mexico did not disappoint. It was beautiful. White sandy beaches and turquoise sea. 🌴🌵

I'm not normally a bright colour sort of person but who can resist when we are talking tropical.
I really love everything that Missy Whidden creates so my layout is very much influenced by her. I have a long way to go but I'm really pleased with the result.

I used lots of cut files which were inked with various distress inks and other watercolour paints. There are a few die cuts from Simple Stories thrown in too.

A couple of die cuts from Elle's Studio hide a blob of ink from a paint brush I dropped right in the middle!

Anyway. Thank you for dropping in even if you were looking for a completely different site!
