More from Prague

Around every corner in the Old Town, Prague, are the most amazing buildings.
I love the way the buildings are painted in different colours - very chocolate box!

The trams around the castle reminded me of something from a ski resort. They were so much fun to ride around in! I'm sure the new trams were much more comfortable but for me the old ones were the best.

I recently received a prize pack from My Creative Sketches.

There were a number of Prima papers (I think) and some Prima flowers. The papers were crying out to be fussy cut.

There were cute little bird cages too.

I have been making tassels lately so I made some very tiny ones! They are so adorable.

The flowers were of course beautiful so I just layered them with some homemade leaves and bits and pieces.

(love the little birdie).

Thanks to My Creative Sketches for the lovely prize!

Thanks for popping in.

Sketch Challenge: My Creative Sketches

We've had a lovely break in Prague this week. If you have never visited this city then put it on your bucket list! It is the most beautiful city with so many things to see!

Anyway, after no scrapping for almost a week, I had itchy fingers when I returned!
I thought I'd take part in the My Creative Sketches challenge.

We happened to walk down this street  which was lined with trees - so pretty at this time of year!
I switched out all the circles of the original sketch for some leaves. I did however, do a bokeh effect in the background with inks and mica powders. Unfortunately, our very poor light means that you can see the sparkly finish.

I crinkled the leaves to give them more texture.

I opted for bright pinks and yellows rather than traditional oranges and browns.

I also received my prize kit from My Creative Sketches which I won in August.
Here's a sneak peak of the finished layout...

I'll post the full layout tomorrow!

Thanks for popping in.

Getting Hitched Album

My very good friend, Natalie got hitched this summer. Her wedding was an amazing Festival wedding. 18 months in planning and preparations, her big day really lived up to all expectations.

I helped out along the way so when it was time for the hen do, it fell to me for the hen do album.

It was a 12x12 spiral album in which everyone added their own special page for Natalie. It was such a great idea. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have of the cover and none of the inside!

I'll leave you with a male 40th birthday card I made for a work colleague...

Lots of texture and all sorts of objects!

Thanks for popping by.

Stuck?! Sketch 15th October

Ooh, multiple posts in one month??! The mid-month Stuck?! sketch:

I really like the design of this sketch - (it has circles for a start!)

My layout features photos from our summer holiday. Everyone (except for me) went parasending. The whole family thought it was amazing as they soared 100ft above the sea!

It was a good excuse to put some texture down with paste and shells then finally adding micro beads.

The colours are a bit off as it's always dark or cloudy whenever I try to take a photo.

The letters are from the Cut Shoppe. I love overlaying them and backing them with different papers.

Do you remember photo turns? I have a heap of them. I thought I'd challenge myself to use some old stash.

Don't forget if you want to play along you can pop over to the Stuck?! Challenge.
There are two sponsored prizes this month...
Heartfelt Creations are offering a $25 gift certificate for their on-line store.

May Arts Ribbon are also offering a $25 gift certificate.

Stuck?! Sketches!

Do you ever get stuck with a layout? I certainly do.

Stuck?!  Sketches is just what you need to get started. There are two sketches each month and some great prizes to keep you motivated! And guess what?! I've just joined the Design Team - yay!! I'm so thrilled as it is just what I need to reinvigorate my scrapbooking.

Let's start with the first sketch...

There are two sponsored prizes this month...
Heartfelt Creations are offering a $25 gift certificate for their on-line store. I spied some gorgeous goodies there so I could spend that prize in a flash!

May Arts Ribbon are also offering a $25 gift certificate. They have totally gorgeous range of ribbons of course and who doesn't love ribbon?!

Here is my take on the challenge...

My very good scrapbooking friends celebrated Barb's birthday in Stratford Upon Avon. We had such a great day out pottering around and enjoying each other's company.

I switched out some of the placement of my embellishments from the original sketch but on the whole I stuck to the design.

I added some die cuts from the Silhouette (my current favourite thing).

I really like the angle of the background - it gives the layout a bit of an edge.

Want to take part?

Just pop over to the Stuck?! Sketches web site to see the other design team entries and how to enter.
