15th November Stuck?! Sketch

Things are busy around here! I can't say that I've actually started my Christmas shopping, but it's the thought that counts.

I have been busy with scrapping amongst other things. Here's my take on the second sketch of the month:

I couldn't resist scrapping our puppy's first Halloween. Not that he did much, but he did have a cute little jersey.  I did stick to the sketch closely although I turned it 90 degrees to suit my photos.

I stamped some leaves which were then coloured with Distress Inks.

I love Halloween but I don't have much in the way of stash. So I turned to my trusty digital files to print out some spooky labels, etc.

Don't forget that there are prizes to be won!

Halloween Layout

Halloween is one of the nicest events to scrap in my book. I have lots of old stamps and it seems papers which never seem to go out of fashion.
So up for a bit of a challenge I did a layout based on Creative Scrappers sketch 298.

This photo is from 2014 - we had such a great time - one of our best Halloween parties.

As you can see I stuck to the sketch quite closely.

I added some sketched circles because it was too late to use my sewing machine LOL. I really love the little jewels and pearls dotted around - looks so lovely IRL.

Although I love Halloween, I don't have any embellishments so I relied on stamping out leaves, cutting the hat and filling a tiny bottle with purple glitter.

Spooky Fun

If you know me, then you'll know I have an aversion to purple.  Don't know why, but I do.  Yet, this year, I seem to be drawn more and more to purple (although only certain shades).  I still detest lilac if you're interested.  I mention this purely because I don't possess any purple flowers and so I had to come up with something for this layout.

I ended up with some Cosmic Shimmer Mist in red (that's all I had on me) and some purple ink.  I got purple flowers, just not sure if I like them or not.

I do however, like these roses which are all the rage right now.  I've tied some black floss in between each one - kind of looks like spider's legs.

The background paper is We R Memory Keepers Heebie Jeebies which is mighty fab.

BOO!

I had never been a real fan of halloween until recently,  That may have something to do with the kids dressing up in spooky costumes or the fabulous craft supplies that go with the event.  Mmmm.  I love the fab Haunted papers from My Mind's Eye - they sure know how to make a girl happy!

I think that the kraft and black papers are a great backdrop to add your own colour from photos and accents.

As this paper had a lot of white space, I stamped a huge spider's web (Hero Arts) and added some sparkly chandeliers (Inkadinkadoo) before adding some splodges of ink and masks.

I have teamed up my supplies with some left over bits and peices from my Graphic 45 suitcase project.  Still love those papers. 

Of course I couldn't resist using my favourite stamps from Pink Paislee (above) and Inkadinkadoo (below).

I've mixed in some digital elements too from House of 3 with more stamps from Inkadinkadoo.

Thankfully, I have more papers and photos to scrap so I'm sure they'll be appearing soon.

More Pumpkin Mania

You may have noticed, but I've had a bit of a thing for Halloween this year.  I've started early so I may actually get fed up of it by the time it gets here.

Here is another pumpkin - this one for the fireplace hearth.


The papier mache pumpkin (Hobbycrafts) was painted with acrylic paint, before being sprayed liberally with gold spray.


I love how the leaves turned out.  They're cut using Spellbinders leaf die, before being inked with various Distress inks.  More ink and gold spray before being crumpled and attached.




Well more of the same really.  Those fab stamps are Inkadinkadoo.


The whole pumpkin thing might just be out of my system by now.  I hope so, as I'm running out of space!

Celebrate with Pencil Lines

Happy Birthday to Pencil Lines.  It is officially 4 years old tomorrow.  WOO HOO!!

To celebrate, Anna has organised a mammouth inspriation and giveaway tomorrow starting at 8am GMT.  Each  hour, there will be inspiration from the design team as well as a lovely RAK.

Spooky

I was going to wait a while to publish this project, but I'm so excited that I can't wait.

I went to Artisan this week. Nicki and I did lots of the classes and I felt truly inspired when I got back. My recent halloween obsession has foound its outlet.



I have decorated the suitcases with lots of paint, ink and the fabulous papers from Graphic 45.

I got the idea while driving home and that was it. I started and finished the suitcase Saturday night (well into Sunday morning technically speaking).

I used a technique on my 'gravestone' using texture paste and sprays which I had seen Liandra (Paperartsy) do on previous occasions.  OK, mine isn't a patch on her examples, but we all have to start somewhere.

I love these Alice images.  I've layered various images over the case so that they spill over the sides too.  It's  a shame that you can't quite see them when the cases are layered up.

Inside the cases, have been decorated with vintage dictionary pages which are further aged with inks (you know the drill).  I wanted those playing cards to spill out over the sides of the cases.  I might stuff a load of sweeties into the bottom case for trick or treat purposes.

The small suitcase also has images and labels randomly placed although the Mad Hatter is upside-down (it was very late).

My pumpkin isn't quite as good as my last one, but I'd run out of the right sort of glitter.

Simon Says Stamp & Show

I love this new challenge site from Simon Say Stamp - there is always such wonderful inspiration.  This week's challenge is Fall/Autumn.  I think I have just the thing.

I have made this cute little pumpkin for a class next month.  It sits on top of a weeny bucket and in my case, a little vintage cake stand.

I have created the pumpkin from a polystyrene ball.  I made a similar one last year for an article in Scrapbook Inspirations.  They are just soo cute.
