Craft Garden Goodies

I thought I'd share some projects that I have done for The Craft Garden over the past few weeks but just not had time to share.

I did another mini-album in a concertina format which can either be popped into a box or stand-up on display.  The beautiful Fairy Flora are a wonderful mix of sumptious colours with matching flowers and journal cards.

I thought I might try lots of whimsical stamping and stickles to really make the most of the papers.

I just love how this page turned out.  The very large dragonfly (Tattered Angels) has been highlighted with stickles

I'm afraid the lighting was poor so you can't really see how I highlighted the flowers on this page with more stickles - looks so pretty IRL.

This album is super-easy as I've used the journal cards as fancy mats for my photos and just clustered pretty Prima flowers.  Voila!

Boys & Girls Come Out to Play

When I looked back over my recent photos - I noticed how much time we'd spent outdoors recently. I guess if you live in a country with so little sunshine for 3 months - you have to make the most of it.

The Jack & Jill collection from Prima is so cute. I love the little figures that it inspired me to create a little album of our play time.

The album is 6x6 made from a single piece of cardstock.  To keep things simple, I used a single sheet of Prima paper as the background and layered up journal cards and other embellishments.

I love the co-ordinating flowers for this set.  I've also added some of the older Got Flowers? as centres.

The album is self-contained so would be an ideal present.  It's fastened together with some buttons.  It then folds out to reveal the inside pages.

Again simple decorations to reduce bulk making it easier to fold up.

DD looks so grown up in this one.

Catching leaves on the way home from school.

Love this basket equipment in our local park.  Just love the way that I could only catch the tops of their heads whilst trying to push them.  Oh the joy!

Hooray for Inset Days

You can tell I'm a SAHM.  I actually welcome inset days at school (teacher training days).  If I were working then they would be  a nightmare trying to find temporary childcare.  As it is, we're off to London tomorrow to visit museums.

So an early night for me tonight.  I thought I'd catch up on a few things before bed.

I hadn't realised that I hadn't shared any of my recent projects for The Craft Garden so here is a favourite one.

These lovely papers are actually K&Co, but they go so well with the flowers from The Craft Garden.  I have layered them and added small beadded centres for a little more detail.

I think my top tip for flowers are to include some leaves.  It's amazing what a little greenery can do to draw the eye in. 

Some of the larger flowers need some extra oomph at the centre.  I've layered smaller flowers give them a bit of balance.

I have said it before, but these Prima butterflies are awesome - some of the nicest things that Prima have released and very well priced. I think that there are 12 in a pack.

Pencil Lines Sketch 204

Before I go onto my layout this week for Pencil Lines, I'll just mention that my galleries have gone up the spout.  I had added new ones yesterday when they suddenly gave up the ghost and stopped working.  Grrr

I have used my lovely stash from The Craft Garden DT to create this week's layout. The bright colours really pop with my photos from this summer's holiday.

The Paislee Road flowers are really bright and cheerful - they didn't require much else to add wow.

The Craft Garden

I have really splendid news. I have joined the lovely design team over at The Craft Garden.  Kerry specialises in lovely flower goodies from Prima in nice usable quantities.

Kerry has sent me the lovely new mini collections from CHA.   I played with Road Trip first of all.

I have created a mini-book all ready for the photos from our holiday to Menorca recently.

I'm a real sucker for travel goodies and when they're cute like these they are such a joy to play with.

I wanted to do something a little fun as well as quirky.  I cut out the characters from one of the papers and used the pattern as inspiration for decorating the page.

I like different types of page, so I used a Basic Grey Mini-book as a template to create this double-tag page.

The green page is actually a pocket which can hold tickets and other ephemera - I'm sure you're like me and keep all those silly ticket stubs of your trips.

I have put my stamps to good use adding more detail to pages, but essentially the entire book was made from a mini kit plus some extra card stock, ribbon and dew drops.

I won't bore you with all the photos of the pages but here is a sample of them all.  The paper set can be found here for just £2.40.  Add a little of your own cardstock and voila!  A fab holiday album.
