Spooky

I was going to wait a while to publish this project, but I'm so excited that I can't wait.

I went to Artisan this week. Nicki and I did lots of the classes and I felt truly inspired when I got back. My recent halloween obsession has foound its outlet.

Spooky Suitcase

I have decorated the suitcases with lots of paint, ink and the fabulous papers from Graphic 45.

Spooky Suitcase

I got the idea while driving home and that was it. I started and finished the suitcase Saturday night (well into Sunday morning technically speaking).

Spooky Suitcase

I used a technique on my 'gravestone' using texture paste and sprays which I had seen Liandra (Paperartsy) do on previous occasions.  OK, mine isn't a patch on her examples, but we all have to start somewhere.

Spooky Suitcase

I love these Alice images.  I've layered various images over the case so that they spill over the sides too.  It's  a shame that you can't quite see them when the cases are layered up.

Spooky Suitcase

Inside the cases, have been decorated with vintage dictionary pages which are further aged with inks (you know the drill).  I wanted those playing cards to spill out over the sides of the cases.  I might stuff a load of sweeties into the bottom case for trick or treat purposes.

The small suitcase also has images and labels randomly placed although the Mad Hatter is upside-down (it was very late).

My pumpkin isn't quite as good as my last one, but I'd run out of the right sort of glitter.

Well I hope that you like my spooky suitcases.  Thanks for popping in.

  3. Woa! That's amazing! I'm so jealous of your pumpkin--I just bought something that looks like it and I was like, "ah, I could have made that!" Well, it probably wouldn't have turned out as cute as yours though!! Awesome Job!!!!

I came upon your beautiful display and remembered I had two of those old suitcases in the closet. I made the medium one for my daughter's table and the small one for my hutch. They turned out so well! I found all my images on google and used vintage Alice pictures. There were so many to choose from!
