Bloom | Hybrid Layout for Digital Press

Hey stranger!
Just a quick post to share a hybrid layout I have just completed for Digital Press.

My very teenage DD and I went out shopping for shoes recently when I saw the sign that caught my eye. I was able to sneak a photo without her knowing while she was checking out the various shoes.

I wanted a teen look to the layout with fun accessories and stamping. I love the Project Life card included in the kit.

I printed out some of the digital elements and papers to layer. 

I mixed in various embellishments to give it a real eclectic look.

Of course I added in some Perspextives and flair from Bramble Fox too.

New Scrap Friends | Digital Press

I recently taught at Scrap Stars retreat - it was so lovely to meet new people who have the same interests!

The Real Moms kit from Digital Press is perfect mist of colours and images.

I love the foliage and flowers in the kit - perfect for a little fussy cutting.

I added a bit of detail on the right hand side to balance things up.
The flair and Perspextives are both Bramble Fox. I also stamped tiny confetti dots below the embellishments in gold. It looks fab in real life.

The photo is from the Scrap Stars retreat where I recently taught two classes. The girls there were so lovely - it was great to have a photo of almost everyone (Caroline took the photo).

Life in Colour | Hybrid Layout - Digital Press

Sorry about the blip in service. I have come down with a stinky cold which was just in time for Mother's Day here in the UK. Nice.

Anyway, I finally managed to get a photo of a layout I completed a couple of weeks ago for The Digital Press.

As my family no longer want to have their photo taken (although they never wanted to), I have resorted to scrapping old photos - they will have albums filled with photos of them when they were young but none as teenagers!

I have used a lovely colourful kit from KIMB Designs - In Living Colour. I was really drawn to the colour combo and graphic designs. These flowers are really cute right?!

I experimented with some ink splodges on the background before stamping some random text over the top in toning colours. (How cute is that little kawaii rabbit??)

The kit has some cute scribble frames and journal words which came in very handy.

My current favourite obsession.

The kit has some amazing patterns so I'll be doing some more with those this week - I'm really hoping to catch up on everything.

Moments that Shine | Hybrid Layout for Digital Press

Parenting can be hard. It might be just us, but having a boy and a girl who are on different wavelengths can be challenging! But there are those days when everything is right and the kids adore each other. They may be as rare as hen's teeth but when they happen, you'd better remember them!

This was clearly one of those moments. The end of a balmy afternoon and the sun is setting.

 The kids just made each other laugh - a real inside joke. So precious!

It is nice to document a moment like that we something a little different. There are not many teen-boy collections but when I saw Mr Fantastic collection from Meagan's Creations on The Digital Press, I knew I had to have it!

I love the geometric designs and of course the colour combo is one of my favourites!

With a digital kit it's easy to print and cut out the elements on a Silhouette. I added a little ink and stamping before layering up the elements.

I added in a few bits and pieces from here and there - it's great mixing in digital elements with leftover elements from kits.

So the next time the kids just get on together, I'll be sure to whip out the camera! I'm not going to hold my breath for long!

Happiest Place On Earth | The Digital Press

For our family, Disney really is the happiest place on earth.

Our second trip to Disney was DD was just 5 years old. The best time to visit characters!
The fantastic Happiest Place Kit has fantastic papers and cut little embellishments.

I printed and cut out the banner and other elements from the kit on the Silhoette.

As you can see there are very cute elements which I've mixed in with some Washi tape and glitter chpboard.

The banner was straightforward for prepare - I just turned it into a silhouette before importing into the Studio software.

New York Travel | The Digital Press

As a member of The Digital Press creative team, I am lucky enough to work with loads of different digital products in all sorts of styles. One of my favourites come from Rachel Hodge. She is so talented!

On our travels to Chelsea Market, NYC, we encountered so many photo opportunities. There was great street art in all sorts of places - even a huge garage.

I've gone all mixed media for a change - something I don't do all that often!

I created a very textured background on watercolour paper, adding stencils, texture paste, inks and stamps. I might have gone a bit over the top for me.

I also layered washi tapes here and there - I love the translucent feel of washi tape.

Then it was time for the awesome die-cut shapes from Rachel. The New York scene is one of my favourites - it's appeared on many a layout and cards! The great thing with die-cutting on white is the way you can completely change the look of them.

You can see more shapes from the New York bundle; the globe is from the Travel Set. They're great value for money because they are jam-packed with gorgeous goodies - just sayin'.

Stretching Your Stash | Digital Press Hybrid Project

Hey - how's it going?
It's been a very busy month for me so far - work is off the hook. I have turned to crafting more and more to keep me sane!

I upcycled some everyday items such as clothing tags, envelopes and packaging to create a cute mini travel album.

The great thing about digital kits for a paper scrapper like me is the ability to print and cut out embellishments time and time again.

The Silhouette makes cutting out even the most intricate of shapes a real doddle.

Only 3 more sleeps until Christmas! Have you got all your Christmas shopping done?

These cute little milk cartons contain some lovely treats. Mine have chocolate coins and sweets but they would be a great package for bath bombs, cocoa and marshmallows, or anything that needs an adorable package.

I used a beautiful digital kit from Digital Press  - Once Upon a Christmas. It contains fun 'sticker' embellishments as well as beautiful papers.

I cut out the embellishments on my Silhouette, but you can fussy cut them or use a punch for the labels. The Milk carton was from the Silhouette store, but there are plenty of free templates on the Internet. Mix in glittery snowflakes and jingle bells and you have the perfect stocking filler!
