A Little Magic | Bramble Fox

Hey. Another layout so soon?!

You bet! This one is a bit of a throwback to Disney trip for DD birthday. I've scrapped many pictures over the years, but I couldn't resist this new Magic Perspextives. I chose the black because I really like the contrast against the bright colours.

I firstly applied gesso before inking the background with my favourite Distress colours. I die cut lots of tags and leaves to layer in the background. I love these beautiful papers from Echo Park and Simple Stories.

I particularly like the tropical leaves which were also inked with Distress Inks. I tucked in a flair from the 'Like a Boss' set.

I hope you like the layout. There are restocks coming to the Bramble Fox shop - be sure to look before they all run out!
Thanks for popping by.

Follow Your Dreams | Bramble Fox

Hey. I hope your summer has been going well. Here in the UK summer seemed to pass us by weather-wise. It already feels a bit autumnal around here.

Anyway, I did manage to snap a photo of my DD on a recent dog walk on the day that the sun shone.

Although our weather could hardly be described as tropical, I couldn't help but use my tropical leaves dies. Those leaves are just gorgeous aren't they?!

The other current favourite thing is the new Bramble Fox flair - Like a Boss. I love the cool watercolour backgrounds and the easy to use slogans.

I'm sure everyone says it, but kids grow up so quickly! My DD is already a fully fledged teenager even though it seems like she was toddling around just yesterday!

I hope that you are inspired to get creative with die-cuts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bramble Fox

Hey. I know it's been ages. I've been busy with a very exciting Project. Back in April I launched a brand new product line and shop - Bramble Fox. I am so excited! It's been a lot of hard work but so rewarding!

https://www.bramblefox.co.uk/
We are making fabulous flair embellishments and Perspextives - beautiful Perspex designs in a gorgeous array of colours!

Over the past 3 months I have built the store and acquired a small fabulous design team! I'll get around to launching the team officially but for now, I'll share one of my own creations that I made for the UK Scrap Addicts challenge.

The Challenge was to use a large photo - 6x8" or larger. This makes creating a layout a real doddle!

Smile is sold with 2 little cameras - totally cute. I just glued them to my page with some Glossy Accents.

There is also a range of flair available - designed to co-ordinate with lots of themes and collections.

There is still chance to enter the challenge over at UK Scrap Addicts. Bramble Fox is sponsoring the prize - you can win a whole stack of goodies worth £35.

if you don't have time to enter, then why not pop along to Bramble Fox and take advantage of the site-wide discount.

Thanks for stopping by - I will be back more frequently to share some of the fab inspiration from the past few months!

Moments that Shine | Hybrid Layout for Digital Press

Parenting can be hard. It might be just us, but having a boy and a girl who are on different wavelengths can be challenging! But there are those days when everything is right and the kids adore each other. They may be as rare as hen's teeth but when they happen, you'd better remember them!
This was clearly one of those moments. The end of a balmy afternoon and the sun is setting.

The kids just made each other laugh - a real inside joke. So precious!
It is nice to document a moment like that we something a little different. There are not many teen-boy collections but when I saw Mr Fantastic collection from Meagan's Creations on The Digital Press, I knew I had to have it!
I love the geometric designs and of course the colour combo is one of my favourites!
With a digital kit it's easy to print and cut out the elements on a Silhouette. I added a little ink and stamping before layering up the elements.

I added in a few bits and pieces from here and there - it's great mixing in digital elements with leftover elements from kits.
So the next time the kids just get on together, I'll be sure to whip out the camera! I'm not going to hold my breath for long!
Thanks for stopping by.

New York State of Mind | Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hey! I hope you are having a great weekend. I've been totally busy and scrapping in between.

I was mooching through my pizza box of goodies - I seem to collate a pizza box until it gets too full and I end up archiving and putting away. Anyway, I came across this background I had started previously. I've no idea why I shelved it and did another.

Lucky me! All I had to do is add more stamping and embellishments, etc.

We were all being crazy for the official photo taken at the Empire State Building. It's supposed to look like that iconic photo of the men sitting on those huge iron girders. It's a good job it wasn't real - a few of my friends are a little scared of heights!

I added some tags and topped one with a homemade tassel. I love the flair (it was a present from my good friend Julie).

This is my favourite bit of detail. I love the different texture from different stencils, stamps and inks.

So thank you for popping by. I'll be back in a couple of days with a layout for The Digital Press Co.

Stuck?! Sketches!

Do you ever get stuck with a layout? I certainly do.

Stuck?!  Sketches is just what you need to get started. There are two sketches each month and some great prizes to keep you motivated! And guess what?! I've just joined the Design Team - yay!! I'm so thrilled as it is just what I need to reinvigorate my scrapbooking.

Let's start with the first sketch...

There are two sponsored prizes this month...
Heartfelt Creations are offering a $25 gift certificate for their on-line store. I spied some gorgeous goodies there so I could spend that prize in a flash!

May Arts Ribbon are also offering a $25 gift certificate. They have totally gorgeous range of ribbons of course and who doesn't love ribbon?!

Here is my take on the challenge...

My very good scrapbooking friends celebrated Barb's birthday in Stratford Upon Avon. We had such a great day out pottering around and enjoying each other's company.

I switched out some of the placement of my embellishments from the original sketch but on the whole I stuck to the design.

I added some die cuts from the Silhouette (my current favourite thing).

I really like the angle of the background - it gives the layout a bit of an edge.

Want to take part?

Just pop over to the Stuck?! Sketches web site to see the other design team entries and how to enter.

My Lucky Day

Last month I entered the sketch challenge at My Creative Sketches. I am thrilled to have been picked to win the fabulous prize - thanks Pam!

Here is the sketch and layout:

I feel very lucky!

Onto a layout I did a little while ago...

I went out with my very good scrappy friends to celebrate Barb's birthday. We had a great day in Stratford upon Avon (Shakespear's home). We always have a real giggle and that day was no different!

I did add a bunch of random pieces to my layout just because I liked them.

Well thanks for popping in. Pop back in a couple of days as I have a small announcement!

Don't Feint! I scrapped!

LOL. I don't know if anyone still pops in to see if I have posted but if anyone does, FYI, I am still alive :)

With a full time job, family & house renovations, I have had little time to scrap and less time to share. I don't know if you have been there, but frankly, I was spending a lot of time on my computer and pushing papers around without achieving anything.

I did manage to scrap a few layouts since my last post, which appears to be almost a year ago! Where did that time go?

Anyway, I'm sure you would rather look a some piccies than waffle, so I thought I would share a couple of my latest layouts.

I had a new haircut recently and was really thrilled as to how it turned out. I still hate having my photo taken but thought it was worth cringing to document my new hair do.

I had been experimenting with inks in various ways to create backgrounds. It was a great excuse to dig out old inks that hadn't seen the light of day for a while too. I love the feathers (cut on a silhouette and inked).

Scraps of paper are still so precious and using them as small flags means that my favourite go a very long way!

I have recently returned from a trip to the Big Apple to celebrate the 50th birthdays of 2 good friends; Jackie & Julie (find these talented ladies at Hey Little Magpie). What a blast, obviously. So James (Jackie's son), asks, what are you most looking forward to doing/seeing when we go to New York? Everything would be the easy answer, but we had to narrow it down to something shorter.

My answer came in the form of a layout featuring Manhattan Island. I created this cut out on my Silhouette - firstly tracing around a map of Manhattan and painstakingly creating the shapes to form the different districts inside).

I thankfully got to do everything on my list and much more.It all exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to go back!

FYI, I think my favourite things are;
#1 Evening Cruise to see the Manhattan skyline (it was magical)
#2 Helicopter tour - incredible sights and exhilarating!
#3 Empire State Building
#4 High Line/Chelsea Market
#5 Brooklyn Bridge

Think I need another layout!

Well thanks for popping in and if you landed here by mistake, I hope it was a happy one.
I have another 900+ photos of New York so I am going to need a big scrapbook album! I
